We run rugby clinics for girls and boys aged 6-12 yrs.
Brooklyn Dragons Youth Rugby is an exciting new effort to get our kids outdoors and having fun in an inclusive, team game. Rugby is a worldwide sport known for its fair play (“chwarae teg”) and respect for all players.
We run a co-ed youth flag (non-contact) rugby clinic, and we want you to participate!
Where? Prospect Park, behind the Picnic House on the Meadows. Google Map.
When? Sundays, 10am – Noon
Why? Rugby Union is a great sport that encourages team work, respect, and is one of the few games where everyone touches the ball, everyone runs with the ball, and everyone passes the ball!
Who? Jaz-Michael King, certified USA Rugby coach will host, and we'll have help from NYC rugby clubs and organisations.
“Isn't Rugby dangerous?” Yes and no. The adult game is a contact sport, although less violent than, say, American football. However, we practice age grade rugby which means no contact in game (although we coach the basics of contact), no tackles. Kids will be wearing flag belts with Velcro tags. We're out to have fun!

PLEASE RSVP! We need to be sure we have enough people on hand, so if you plan on attending, even for one day, please RSVP to brooklyndragons@gmail.com and let us know how many kids you'll be bringing and their ages. Or E-mail us with your questions.
You're welcome to attend for one day or all, just come by to check it out!
